Autobiographical Narrative
When I first entered Lindsay High School my main goal was to just graduate and get my diploma. That was my one and only goal, but as I progressed through the school years my goals had changed a bit. I did not realize the work that had to be done in order to achieve that goal so in order for me to be able to reach that goal I had to create smaller goals that lead up to my original goal.
During my first year at LHS I did not really know what was in store for me the next few years, my main goal was to just graduate and get my diploma. As I was ending my first year of high school I began to realize that graduating wasn't going to be easy and as I entered my sophomore year I had to make smallers goals to be able to reach my ultimate goal which was to graduate. My goals for my sophomore year were to finish each class by the end of each semester and not be behind pace in any of my classes because during my freshman year I made the mistake of falling behind in a few of my classes and it made it harder for me to complete the school year because I had to complete work that was past due. As I went through my sophomore year I made sure I was staying on pace and completing my classes until I reached my junior year.
As I entered my junior year I decided to take an AP class which was AP spanish language. I soon began to realize that this was going to be a difficult class but i was determined to complete the class, But as I went on in the year the work for that class just seemed to keep adding up with new homework assignments each day and as I reached the end of the first semester I was beginning to fall behind. I was determined to not fall behind and to finish the first semester on pace and after spending several long nights I was able to finish all my work and complete the semester on pace. By second semester I began doing all my work so that I would not fall behind again and by the end of the school year I had completed the class and got a passing grade for the AP exam that year.
As I entered my last and final year here at LHS I was able to keep my goal of being on pace on all my classes by the semester mark and I am currently in my second semester and I plan to continue staying on pace so I can achieve my goal of graduating and getting my diploma.
In conclusion, my one and only goal my freshman year was to graduate and get my diploma, but as I progressed through the years I realized I was going to have to put a lot of work and make smaller goals that would lead up to main goal of graduating.

Personal Statement
Throughout my the school years I have been in many sports including cross country, soccer and track. There has been many times where the coach was not able to be at practice so I was put in charge of the entire team. This is where I began to show that I was more than just an athlete, I was a leader. I was able to take charge and lead practices making sure that everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing and making sure that people were not messing around. There has been a couple of times where I would have to get people in trouble because they would think just because the coach wasn't there they could do whatever they want and I had to remind them that just because they weren't there they could goof off, and that the coach put me in charge for a reason and that they should quit messing around and actually practice. As I continue doing sports I am confident enough to take charge of the team when the coach is not present and the people on the team respect me as a leader because i have been doing this sports all fours years of high school.
One of my greatest talents I believe I have is the ability to play the trumpet. I come from a family of musicians, my uncles play the trumpet, my sister plays the violin, and I have several other relatives that play other instruments. When I first picked up a trumpet I was about seven years old and as soon as I started playing I was a natural and I knew I was meant to play this instrument. Over the years I have had great teachers my very first was Art Rodriguez. I played in a mariachi from Porterville California and was mentored by a man named Frank Chavez who later gave me the opportunity to play with the best mariachi in the world Los Camperos De Nati Cano. playing with them was a great experience and I learned a lot from them. Today I still play the trumpet but I have so much going on right now, mainly school that I have stopped playing the trumpet on a daily basis.
During my time here at LHS I have really taken advantage of the performance base system because this system allows me to move at my own pace but at the same time it gives me deadlines I have to meet which pressures me to get my work done on time. Another significant educational opportunity that I have taken advantage of is Spanish Honors Society. I have learned that being apart of this honors club is something that I can put on my college applications and will make me stand out above others. I believe that Spanish Honors Society is a great club and I have taken advantage of the opportunities it has given me.
One thing that I believe sets me apart from other candidates applying to the University of California is my determination. With my determination I am able to achieve great thing and overcome any obstacle thrown my way. Others may say they determination as well but I believe that they do not have determination like I do, I know that if given any task that seems almost impossible with my determination I will be able to complete the task given.
